FACTS ABOUT US

The Small Grand Things estate has been in our family since the 1800s. A four generation family homestead we now share with others. You can find traces of our family history throughout the property. Including bricks from an original maple syrup cookery. Which is where the Maple leaf in our branding comes from!

Eggplant Parm

The business idea for Small Grand Things was drawn out on a diner napkin over a lunch of Eggplant Parmesan. While Danielle was living in Washington, D.C., Ann was out visiting and they discussed the future dream of their family property in Iowa. A wedding venue had always been a long term goal, but that lunch turned the someday maybe plan into a business plan and Small Grand Things opened 14 months later.

As a small, family business, we do it all! From landscaping, to cleaning, to set up and tear down, and everything in between. Danielle and Ann are not only extremely hands-on in the business, they are the only hands! You receive personal care from the individuals who care about the success of your grand wedding.
