How to Design a Spring Court Inspired Wedding

That moment when you read A Court of Thornes and Roses, fell in love with the aesthetic of the Spring Court. Or, maybe Spring is your favorite season. Either way, you were inspired by the Spring Court of Pyrthian and use it to design your wedding vibe. What elements capture the air of Tamlin’s Estate?

Let’s start with dress. You know this is going to be a formal, white-tie event. Full suits and ballgowns will be attire for the wedding party without a doubt. We do hope this is a mild Spring wedding day. This is a wedding where there will be a formal dress code on the invitations for guests. This is a wedding ball, and your chance to show out. Take advantage of it.

The setting of your ceremony and reception provides the backdrop of your entire wedding. You will want to make sure it is fitting for the theme. A Spring Court inspired wedding won’t use a barn for their venue. You will want to find someplace with outdoor gardens. Grand estates with manicured lawns. An outdoor ceremony in a garden path or on a lawn outside a mansion is going to have the grandeur fitting a Spring Court wedding. The cocktail hour and reception to follow would happen in a ballroom or an outdoor courtyard.

The décor is going to be florals. To pull off a Spring Court inspired wedding will require a large floral budget and florals will be the main décor feature with centerpieces, and even hanging installations. Twinkle and sparkle could be added in with candles and strung lights above tables. This will create a magical, faerie garden aesthetic. The florals will be a full arrangement of Spring blooms and colors.

A grazing table option or even multiple stations for dinner would be a fun dinner element. Keep it light and refreshing like the Spring season. A seated and plated dinner could be an option with light dinner options. The wedding cake could be a “naked” cake with edible blooms decorating it or also a large, vintage, elaborate tiered cake to follow the formal theme.

Special elements to set off a true Spring Court wedding will be features like candelabras, water fountains, a string quartet (we all know how much Tamlin loves the violin), and honey, and mead drinks. Overly posed photography to capture the formality of the event would be a popular option.

When thinking about the Spring Court, it is easy to draw parallels to the Bridgerton aesthetic. So, if you read A Court of Mist and Fury and hate the Spring Court, but love this aesthetic, you can just call it Bridgerton instead.

Happy Planning and Designing!
